Terms of use

These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the terms of a project. If we build something for you, that work is governed by the written proposal you sign, which sets out scope, price, and timeline. Nothing on this page changes anything in a signed proposal, and where the two disagree, the proposal wins.
Using the site
Read it, quote it, link to it, send it to someone. You do not need our permission for any of that.
What we ask you not to do:
- Use the inquiry form for anything other than a real inquiry. No sales pitches, no link building offers, no bulk submissions.
- Work around Turnstile or the other spam protection, or automate submissions to the form.
- Scrape the site hard enough to cost us money, or copy it wholesale to stand up a competing one.
- Break into it, probe it for weaknesses, or interfere with anyone else's use of it. If you do find a security problem, we would genuinely rather hear about it. Tell us and we will thank you properly.
What this site is, and what it is not
The site describes what we do and shows work we have done. It is not an offer, a quote, or a contract. What a project costs and how long it takes depend on what the project actually turns out to need, which is why the process starts with a conversation and ends with a written proposal.
The journal is where we write about how we build things. It is written carefully, but it is a record of what worked for us on our own work, not professional advice for your situation.
Who owns what
The design, code, text, and images that make up this site belong to DanK Web Studio LLC, except where a page says otherwise.
The client work shown in the work section belongs to those clients. It appears here as a portfolio, with permission. Their names, their logos, and their site designs remain theirs.
Quote us with attribution. Take a code snippet out of the journal and use it, that is what it is there for. Do not lift the site's design or copy wholesale.
Links to other sites
The journal links out to other people's writing and tools. We link to things we think are worth your time, but we do not control them, and a link is not an endorsement of everything at the other end.
No warranty on the site itself
This website is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and online, and we take that seriously, but we do not promise that it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or correct on every point at every moment. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement as they apply to this website.
That paragraph is about this website. It has nothing to do with the warranty on work we do for a client, which is set out in the proposal for that work.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, DanK Web Studio LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of this website. If we are held liable despite that, our total liability for anything connected with this website is limited to one hundred dollars.
Again, this is about the website. Liability on client work is dealt with in the proposal for that work.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. Carrying on using the site after that means you accept the version that is up.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about this website belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in El Paso County, Colorado.
