Privacy policy

This site is run by DanK Web Studio LLC, a web design studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This page explains what the site collects when you visit, why it collects it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It describes what this site actually does, not what a template says a site might do.
The short version
We collect what you type into the inquiry form, and almost nothing else. We run no analytics. We do not advertise. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the two companies named below that keep the site online. For ordinary visitors, this site sets no cookies at all.
What you send us
The inquiry form on the contact page asks for:
- Your name and your email address. Both are required, because we cannot reply without them.
- Your business name and phone number. Both optional. The phone number only if you would rather be called than emailed.
- What you need, and a description of the project.
We use that to reply to you and to work out what the job involves. That is the whole purpose. You are not added to a mailing list, and your details do not go to anyone else.
What the site records on its own
- The IP address a form submission came from, stored with the submission. It is there as a record against spam and abuse, not to build a profile of you.
- Ordinary web server logs. The server records the requests it serves, which includes IP addresses, browser user agent strings, and which pages were asked for. These rotate on the server's normal schedule.
- Error logs. Drupal, the CMS this site runs on, records site errors so that we can find and fix them.
Spam protection on the contact form
The contact page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which works out whether a submission is coming from a person or a script. It runs on that one page. No other page on this site contacts Cloudflare.
To do that job, Turnstile receives your IP address and information about your browser, and it sets its own cookie for that page. Cloudflare handles what it receives under its own privacy policy. Turnstile is used here rather than an advertising company's CAPTCHA because it does not feed an ad profile, but the request does leave this site, and you should know it happens.
The form also uses a hidden field that scripts fill in and people do not. That collects nothing.
Analytics: none
This site runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics property, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no heatmap, and no session recorder. Apart from the Turnstile check described above, nothing on this site reports your visit to anyone.
If that ever changes, this page changes with it, and a consent banner will ask you first rather than after the fact.
Cookies
For ordinary visitors, this site sets no cookies. Turnstile sets one on the contact page, as described above. If you log in to the administrative side, which means us, Drupal sets a session cookie so that the login works.
How long we keep it
An inquiry sent through the form is deleted from this site automatically a year after it arrives. If it turns into a project, the record of that work lives in our email and our project files rather than in the website, and we keep it for as long as the business needs it. Either way you can ask us to delete yours sooner, and we will.
Who else can see it
The site runs on a server we rent from Akamai, under the Linode brand, in the United States. They host the machine, so the data sits on their hardware. Cloudflare sees the Turnstile check on the contact page. That is the complete list. There is no CRM, no email marketing platform, and no ad network involved in this site.
What you can ask for
Write to us and ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. We will do it, and we will not ask you to prove you have a statutory right to it first.
Children
This site is aimed at people running businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes to this page
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change worth knowing about gets written up in the journal rather than edited in quietly.
